AI Training for the Healthcare Industry

Under Article 4 of the EU AI Act, companies are required to ensure and demonstrate that their employees possess a sufficient level of AI competence to use AI systems safely and responsibly.

As of February 2, 2025, such training is therefore required by law. The goal is to enable employees and managers to understand the fundamentals, opportunities, and risks of AI and to master the practical application of these technologies.

In the healthcare sector in particular, there are exceptionally high requirements regarding data protection, patient safety, and legal compliance. The use of artificial intelligence opens up significant opportunities here—but at the same time makes thorough training essential. Even the mere use of AI tools, such as ChatGPT or medical software with AI components, requires training. This requirement applies regardless of whether you develop AI solutions yourself or merely use them.

Failure to provide the required AI training carries significant liability risks. If damage occurs as a result of improper AI use and no training was conducted, this can be deemed organizational negligence—with corresponding consequences under liability and insurance law.

Our law firm offers AI competency training specifically tailored to the healthcare industry. This ensures that your employees:

  • meet the legal training requirements,

  • take into account the sensitive specifics of the healthcare sector when working with AI systems,

  • and master the responsible use of AI in daily practice.

This lays the foundation for the legally compliant and responsible use of AI in your facility.
