Power Lunch: Rights and Responsibilities of Municipal Supervisory Boards
Serving on the supervisory board of a municipal enterprise is a challenge—not only for those serving in an honorary capacity—and is subject to relatively complex requirements. In a traditional GmbH, a supervisory board is a rarity. The situation is quite different for municipal enterprises. Here, the supervisory board is regularly one of the most important bodies in local politics. This places comparatively high demands not only on the companies themselves, but also on the municipalities and counties of which they are subsidiaries, and, not least, on the board members.
Companies need decisions to be able to act. In contrast, supervisory board members need understanding and knowledge to be able to act. Our introductory seminar addresses this tension.

Our seminar is aimed at top administrative officials and department heads, executive directors, and supervisory board chairs, as well as employees involved in supervisory board activities. It is particularly well-suited for members of supervisory boards but is ultimately relevant for all county and municipal council members, as many of the “rules of the game” applicable to supervisory boards differ from those of county and municipal regulations and thus significantly influence the day-to-day work of local politics. It is ideally suited for anyone who wishes to acquire new knowledge or refresh existing knowledge.
Can’t make it on July 3, 2025? We also offer this seminar as an in-house training session (in-person) or as a customized webinar: please feel free to contact us if you’re interested.
